The Julio Lugo Error Ends For The Boston Red Sox…

FOXSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal has learned that Boston Red Sox shortstop, Julio Lugo will be designated for assignment before Friday’s game.

Lugo probably on the verge of making another error

This was a signing that should have never happened in the first place. I have no idea what Theo Epstein was thinking when he signed Lugo to a four-year, $36 million deal back in the winter of 2007. If there ever was a player who didn’t fit in with this group of Red Sox, Lugo was it.

Goodbye Lugo. I won’t miss you trying to blame the fan’s “negativity” even though the Red Sox were coming off of their second World Series title. I won’t miss how you butchered groundball, after groundball, after groundball. And I certainly won’t miss the fact that you flat out stunk for two and a half years.

The Red Sox will do just fine with Nick Green and Jed Lowrie at shortstop
